How To Limit Fps In Skyrim
Try this and set the game to various rates between 30 and 58 until you think it's smooth. You don't want to go any faster than what looks smooth to you so the inevitable drops are not as noticeable. Most think 37 is good for this game. T rex vs carnotaurus lego.
You don't want to go over 56 to 58 as things can start to get weird.I think you need SKSE (Skyrim Script Extender) to use this. There is a link to that in the readme.Posts: 3371 Joined: Sat Jul 21, 2007 12:06 amDisplay posts from previous: Sort.
With FPS limit to 60 or about and on 60 Hz monitors, you will be able to see horizontal lines during gameplay in most games. Only V-sync or higher limit will fix this. Why use FPS limiter instead of Vsync? I can't use Vsync cause of input lag (I have 60 Hz monitors) and FPS limiter is useful for removing unnecessary load on system (CPU, GPU and PSU). RenderAheadLimit: Limit how many frames ahead are rendered to reduce input lag.(default is 0) FPSlimit: Limit framerate for smoother gameplay and reduced cpu/gpu use. 0 to disable.(default is 30) You can make this file work in conjunction with ENBSeries.ini: 1. Rename the FPS Limiter's D3D9.dll to D3D9FL.dll, now drop it into your Skyrim folder.
So my laptop processor hit 86c last night after playing for around 2 hours. After doing a little bit of research I found out there's no command to limit FPS in the Skyrim console, I've even checked the.ini and couldn't find anything in there either.
I came across an FPS limiter on this site but I have a laptop with Nvidia Optimus and the mod would cause the game to run with intel graphics rather than the dedicated geforce card. I was wondering if there's any other alternative to cap my FPS? I have vsync on but my card consistently gets 60 frames and this still puts major strain and causes high temperatures. I'm trying to set a limit to around 35ish, is there any alternative to get this to work properly, or perhaps get the FPS Limiter on this site to use the dedicated GPU? Any help would be appreciated.
I am having this exact same problem. Just googled the problem and came across this. Anyone have ideas? Have you tried contacting the maker of the fps limiter?I personally haven't contacted the maker of the fps limiter mod but I guess it's the best idea at the moment since I've yet to find a workaround for us optimus users. Annyways I did however find a way to lower my temperatures by 7 degrees. It's all in the power options, first click on your battery icon then 'more power options'. Select 'change plan settings' for the 'balanced' profile.
From there choose 'Change advanced power settings'. In the new window that opens up expand 'processor power management' and then expand 'maximum processor state'. Change both the 'on battery' and 'plugged in' options from 100% to 99%. This worked for me, basically by setting it at 99% your processor will never run at full speed on this setting, you'll take a slight fps hit - for me it was around 2 fps but my temps are much cooler.
Skyrim Limit Fps To 60
I'd still like to find an alternative so I can just limit the fps and play Skyrim without melting my laptop.Edited by Mauro87, 17 November 2011 - 03:10 AM.
